Ready to start your new home project? When you choose Shaw Building Ltd, you work directly with the owner, Brad Shaw, every step of the way. Below is our straightforward 6-step process, designed to keep everything transparent, stress-free, and focused on delivering the home you’ve always wanted.

1. Initial Consultation

We begin with a relaxed, face-to-face meeting to discuss your site, budget, and vision. Whether you already have a floor plan, favourite design examples, or want to start from scratch, this is your opportunity to share every idea. If you have existing plans, we’ll review them together and explore how to bring them to life. Questions are always welcome as we’re here to guide you from the very first conversation through to completion.

2. Architectural Plans

We partner with trusted local architects who create an initial concept plan based on everything we discussed. You’ll have plenty of time to review the design and request any changes. Once you’re happy with the concept, we develop the full working drawings. These detailed plans allow us to provide an accurate price for your build and support the building consent application.

3. Selecting Fittings and Finishes

You’ll choose from our carefully selected range of high-quality products and suppliers. Our team will guide you through the options, helping you select finishes that perfectly match your style and budget. This early selection ensures materials are ordered smoothly and arrive on time for construction.

4. Contract Signing

With your final plans and selections confirmed, we obtain detailed quotes from all suppliers specific to your project. This gives us the information needed to prepare your Master Build contract, which clearly outlines the total fixed price and all payment stages. You’ll have time to review the contract in full. Our team is available to answer any questions and make adjustments if needed, so you feel completely confident before moving forward.

5. Construction Begins

Once the contract is signed and the deposit is paid, construction starts, this is subject to building consent approval and land title issuance (where applicable). Your project advances through clearly defined stages, and we provide regular updates so you always know exactly where things stand.

6. Handover

Your new home has been carefully managed and built to the highest standard from start to finish. Before final payment, we carry out a thorough final walkthrough together. We’ll show you every detail, address any questions, and ensure everything meets your expectations. We then hand over the keys to your new home.
